Fontaine de Trevi
The Trevi Fountain is one of the most famous fountains in the world and a true masterpiece of Baroque art. Designed by Nicola Salvi and completed by Giuseppe Pannini in 1762, it represents Oceanus, the god of the sea, riding a shell-shaped chariot pulled by sea horses. Tradition says that tossing a coin into the fountain ensures a return to Rome.

The term “City of Water”, commonly used to define the archaeological area of Vicus Caprarius, is however due to the element that undoubtedly characterizes the site the most. In the 2nd century AD, a large water reservoir was built in a part of the building complex, probably used until the 6th century AD
