Große Sphinx
Die Große Sphinx von Gizeh (arabisch: أبو الهول Abū al-Haul, englisch: Der Schreckliche; wörtlich: Vater des Schreckens), allgemein als Sphinx bezeichnet, ist eine Kalksteinstatue einer liegenden oder liegenden Sphinx (ein Fabelwesen mit Löwenkörper und menschlichem Kopf), die auf dem Gizeh-Plateau am Westufer des Nils in Gizeh, Ägypten, steht.
