Tornasol trailhead
Tucked away in the verdant slopes of the Bosque Estatal de Carite near the barrio of San Salvador in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Cañón Tornasol (also called “Salto San Salvador”) is a hidden‑gem canyon and waterfall experience.
The trailhead leads into a lush tropical setting of tall trees, dense undergrowth and a clear mountain stream. You’ll hear the rush of cascading water before you see it—an ~80‑foot waterfall plunging into a crystal‑clear plunge pool, creating a dramatic and serene sight.
The trail can be steep, slippery and somewhat rugged—good hiking shoes are recommended
The plunge pool beneath the waterfall is a striking blue‑green, inviting for a dip on a hot day (though currents and terrain must be respected).
Birdsong, the rustle of rainforest leaves, filtered sunlight—this is more “nature retreat” than paved promenade.
Fewer crowds than the main tourist spots; the experience feels more raw and authentic. Come with us and experience the real Puerto Rico with food Afterwards
