Parco Acheologico di Ercolano
The excavations of Herculaneum reveal to the visitor a Roman city buried in a few moments by the violence of Vesuvius in 79 AD, in an excellent state of conservation.
The city was covered by a flow of pyroclastic material, which transformed into mud and stratified over the city for about 23 meters. Thanks to the particular type of burial in this site, entire wooden structures, decorations, furnishings for daily use and about 300 skeletons of the victims have remained intact.
The remaining time will be due to transportation to and from the attraction.
