History is full of maritime cities that have based their power and wealth on their ports, and Cagliari is one of them. Although not as famous and glorious as cities such as Venice, Genoa, or Pisa, Cagliari is one of the oldest cities not only in Italy but in all of Europe, something that I, as a guide and native of Cagliari, am very proud of!

Itinerary
1
Museo del Tesoro e Area Archeologica di Sant'Eulalia
We begin at the Sant'Eulalia Archaeological Area, which includes the remains of ancient Karales, the Latin name for Cagliari in the Roman age, during the late ancient and early medieval ages, before the migration of its inhabitants to the center of Santa Igia. Once entered and paid the ticket, we proceed to visit the area, following the established route within the archaeological area itself, observing in detail the ancient Roman age neighborhood before its abandonment.
30 minutes
2
Chiesa di Santa Lucia
Once the visit to the archaeological area of Sant'Eulalia is over, we will proceed to view from the outside the ruins of the church of Santa Lucia, one of the oldest churches within Cagliari, founded in the times of the "Giudicati", small indipendent sardinian kingdoms, about a century before the establishment of the colony of Castrum Callaretani by the Pisan settlers, today historic quarter of Castello, on which the Marina district was directly dependent. Afterwards we will proceed to have a coffee, offered by me, at a nearby café.
20 minutes
3
Chiesa di Sant'Eulalia
After a coffee break, we proceed to visit the Church of Sant'Eulalia, founded in Aragonese age and dedicated to the patron saint of Barcelona herself, one of the few remaining examples of Catalan Gothic style in Cagliari.
30 minutes
4
Cripte del Santo sepolcro
Having finished the visit to the church of St. Eulalia, we proceed to visit the fascinating as well as gloomy crypt of Santo Sepolcro, located in a border area between the historic quarters of Marina and Villanova; we will enter inside it and observe the details that jump out most to the eye.
30 minutes
5
Porta dei Leoni
Having finished the visit to the crypt, our tour ends with a view of the Lions Gate, a reinforced gate that formed the last defense to the south of the mighty fortifications of the Castello quarter. Afterwards, if you wish, you can also climb above the Bastion of Saint Remy in order to see the magnificent panorama of Cagliari that starts from the monument itself.
