Begin with pickup at your centrally-located hotel or cruise ship by 2:30 pm: the exact time of departure depends on your location and will be confirmed by the local supplier after booking. Transfer to a jetty on the Nile River, where you’ll board a boat for Sohail Island. Depending on river conditions and the weather, you’ll travel in a traditional felucca sailboat, or in a modern motorboat. Take in views of the Nile riverbanks on the way to Sohail Island, passing Elephantine Island along the way. Disembark on Sohail Island, and visit a traditional Nubian house to learn about the history and culture of the Nubian people over a glass of welcome tea. After your time at the house, take a walk to explore the island on your own, strolling through brightly-painted villages, and chatting with the locals.
