Enter Hakone’s active volcanic zone, where sulphurous steam rises from the earth and the famous kuro-tamago (black eggs, slow-cooked in natural hot springs) are sold at the crater’s edge. Clear-day views of Mt. Fuji from the observation area are exceptional.

Lake Ashinoko
Stroll the peaceful lakeshore and take in views across the water to Mt. Fuji. An optional sightseeing cruise aboard the famous pirate ship is available at your discretion (additional cost).

Hakone Sightseeing Cruise is a sightseeing boat that crosses scenic Lake Ashi. The ship is designed like a pirate ship and offers beautiful views of the lake, surrounding mountains, and Mount Fuji on clear days.
