The Monument is a great example of socialist realism, and depicts a soldier raising his right hand waving troops forward while holding a rifle in his left. This is a perfect spot to talk about the glorification of the partisan war and the ways dictator Enver Hoxha used it to condemn his political rivals.

Shtepia Partise Enver Hoxha
This is the house of the Dictator. The villa was built in the “Bllok” after the 1960s, with the older part of the building mimicing 1930s architecture. The house has not changed since Hoxha died. We will discuss there how the communist establishment lived during that time and what happened after Hoxha died.

Postbllok - Checkpoint Monument
Memorial to communist isolations conceived as an artistic installation and co-created by former dissident Fatos Lubonja and artist Ardian Isufi. Lubonja had suffered thirteen years in hard labour camp of Spac for being critical of Hoxha’s regime. Here we will talk about the communist crimes and the difficult transition to democracy.
