Visit with a licensed guide Vergina (or Aige in ancient Greek), which is located only 82 km away from Thessaloniki, in central Macedonia. Vergina is Unesco World Heritage Site, where among the other antiquites you will have the chance to see the nicely preserved tomb of King Philip II (father of Alexander the Great) and the tomb of Alexander IV (son of Alexander the Great). Continuing with your guided tour, we will visit the city of Veria, stroll around its narrow preserved quorters, see the altar of Apostle Paul, visit the Orta Mosque and check the oldest Synagoge in the Balkans. Also, free time for lunch in one of the many taverns of Veria and return to Thessaloniki in the afternoon.

The Jewish synagogue
The Jewish Synagogue in Veroia, Greece, is a beautifully preserved landmark in the historic Jewish Quarter. Built in the 19th century, it stands as a testament to the once-thriving Sephardic Jewish community. The synagogue features traditional architecture, including a wooden ark and a women’s balcony. Though no longer in regular use, it remains a significant cultural and historical site. Visit inside the Synagogue is upon request.
