Itinerary
1
Guadalajara Metropolitan Area
Our morning begins at the Santa Teresita Parish, where we will learn how Catholic refugees, driven by armed conflict, founded this traditional neighborhood a century ago. Then we'll stroll to the bustling neighborhood’s market for a true taste of Guadalajara. Prepare your taste buds for a feast of local specialties: from succulent birria and iconic tortas ahogadas to tender pastor tacos, mouthwatering quesadillas (flat-grilled or deep fried), and savory chilaquiles! Your guide will provide recommendations and you'll be free to choose your preferred delicacy (food is included, all dietary preferences are welcome!).

Guadalajara Metropolitan Area
Next, we'll explore Colonia Americana, a beautiful neighborhood of early 1900s eclectic architecture, nowadays a dynamic hub for the city's young, artistic, and hip scene. We'll stroll its tree-lined streets to admire three of Luis Barragán's earliest works from the 1920s, showcasing the regionalist style/ tapatio school that originated in Guadalajara and gained international acclaim (Access to the interiors of the properties is dependent on their event schedules).
For the final segment of our exploration, we’ll take a leisurely walk along the pedestrian corridor at Avenida Chapultepec. To bring our tour to a delightful close, we can visit one of the area's trendy bistros or bars for coffee, craft beer, or tequila or mezcal cocktails, the choice is yours!
