Early in the morning, move on to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) Complex, the largest museum in the world dedicated to one civilisation. It is a great place to start your day, surrounded by artefacts and objects that reflect the grandeur this nation once enjoyed. You will enjoy seeing the grand open court, the museum's main entrance area, which features the world's only hanging obelisk belonging to King Ramses II. Explore the exterior gardens surrounding the museum. Take in the scenic views and appreciate the building's architectural beauty.

Step into the Grand Hall of the museum. Take in the grandeur of the hall and admire the informative displays and exhibits, which provide an overview of the museum's history and significance. The museum reveals the pivotal role of the boats in ancient Egyptian religion, navigation and royal funerary traditions. It illustrates how they were crafted to carry the pharaoh’s soul across the Nile into eternity. Through immersive displays, visitors can explore the advanced shipbuilding techniques used to construct the boats, their symbolic connection to the sun god Ra, and their enduring significance in ancient trade, culture and engineering.

Then, if you wish, you can move on to the delicious part of the tour and sample some authentic traditional Egyptian cuisine. You can choose to eat kushari, a special combination of rice, noodles, chickpeas, lentils, fried onions and tomato sauce. Alternatively, you can try shawarma, which consists of spit-roasted layers of lamb, beef or other meat that are sliced and often served in or with pita bread. Or you can try falafel sandwiches, which consist of deep-fried balls or patties made from chickpeas or fava beans, or fava bean and baba ganoush sandwiches, which are made of blended eggplant, tahini, garlic, lemon juice and salt. At the end of your tour, we will drive you back to your hotel.
