Grand Canyon Skywalk

The Grand Canyon Skywalk west-rim was the idea of Las Vegas businessman David Jin in 1996, who partnered with the Hualapai Tribe to create a unique tourist attraction. Construction began in 2004, and the glass-and-steel, horseshoe-shaped walkway officially opened to the public on March 28, 2007. Designed to cantilever 70 feet over the canyon's edge, the Skywalk was a complex engineering feat designed to be supported by deep bedrock anchors and withstand high winds.
