Humayun's Tomb
Humayun's Tomb is one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built between 1562 and 1571, it was commissioned by Empress Bega Begum, the first wife of Emperor Humayun. It is the First Garden-Tomb in India. Inspired by Persian Charbagh gardens, it introduced a symmetrical layout with water channels and lush greenery. The tomb was the first structure in India to use red sandstone on such a large scale.
