Itinerary
1
Thingvellir National Park
Þingvellir (Thingvellir) is a historic site and national park in Iceland, east of Reykjavík. It's known for the Alþing (Althing), the site of Iceland's parliament from the 10th to 18th centuries. On the site are the Þingvellir Church and the ruins of old stone shelters. The park sits in a rift valley caused by the separation of 2 tectonic plates, with rocky cliffs and fissures like the huge Almannagjá fault.
30 minutes
2
Geysir
Haukadalur is the home of hot springs, fumaroles, mud pots, and geysers, including the famous Great Geysir and the active Strokkur. The area is noted for the vivid coloration of its surrounding hills, caused by elements deep in the earth being brought to the surface by the geothermal activity.
30 minutes
3
Gullfoss Waterfall
Gullfoss (translated to ‘Golden Falls’) is one of Iceland’s most iconic and beloved waterfalls, found in the Hvítá river canyon in Southwest Iceland.
30 minutes
4
Faxi (Vatnsleysufoss) Waterfall
Faxifoss is a beautiful waterfall on the Golden Circle route. It is also known as “Vatnsleysufoss“. It is not as big as Gullfoss but the nice thing is that you can get really close to the falls. The waterfall is about 10 feet high and is quite a straight wall of water for about 50 feet.
15 minutes
5
Fridheimar
Country-style, family-run restaurant offering tomato-based dishes from onsite greenhouses.

6
Kerid Crater
Kerið is approximately three thousand years old, making it roughly half the age of most volcanic calderas found in Iceland. This is the major reason as to why Kerið’s slopes are red in colour, rather than a volcanic black; the iron deposits are, geologically speaking, fresh.
