Temple de la vallée de Khéphren
Le temple de la vallée de Khéphren, situé sur le plateau de Gizeh, près du Grand Sphinx, fut construit sous le règne du pharaon Khéphren (vers 2558-2532 av. J.-C.). Il constituait un élément essentiel de son complexe funéraire, où le corps du roi était recueilli, purifié et préparé pour l'inhumation. Construit en blocs de calcaire massifs et revêtu de granit poli, le temple est l'un des exemples les mieux préservés de l'architecture de l'Ancien Empire.

Le Sphinx : Gardien antique
Le Sphinx est une créature mythique au corps de lion et à tête humaine, symbole de force et de sagesse. L'exemple le plus célèbre est le Grand Sphinx de Gizeh, en Égypte, qui aurait été construit vers 2500 av. J.-C., sous le règne du pharaon Khéphren. Il servait probablement de gardien de sites sacrés.
