A popular hatchery is the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, located about 20km north of Galle. This hatchery was established in 1981 and has been instrumental in the conservation of sea turtles in Sri Lanka. Visitors can observe the different stages of the turtle's life cycle, from eggs to hatchlings, and learn about the hatchery's conservation efforts.
