Gokōnomiya Shrine
At Gokōnomiya Shrine, we learn about its long history and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this traditional Shinto shrine. We also drink the famous sacred spring water, believed to bring purification and good health. This water, known as Fushimi’s famous underground water (Fushimizu), is the same source that has supported the local sake brewing culture for centuries. Afterward, we continue to a local sake brewery, where we enjoy a tasting experience and learn about the traditional brewing process of Fushimi sake.

Kizakura Kappa Museum
At Kizakura Kappa Museum, we learn about the history of Kizakura sake and its famous kappa mascot. We explore fun exhibits about Japanese sake culture and brewing traditions, and enjoy a casual tasting experience of local sake. It’s a light and entertaining stop where we can discover the charm of Fushimi’s sake heritage in an interactive way.

Gekkeikan Okura Sake-Museum
At the Gekkeikan Ōkura Sake Museum, we learn about the long history of one of Japan’s most famous sake breweries, Gekkeikan. We explore traditional brewing tools and exhibits that show how sake has been made in Fushimi for centuries. We also enjoy a tasting experience of local sake, discovering the deep flavor and craftsmanship behind Japanese sake culture.

Guests can also purchase local sake and souvenirs, making it a pleasant final stop to experience the charm of the Fushimi area.
