Itinerary
Departing from Cusco, we head to the high-altitude Patabamba community. En route, we pass fields growing Quinoa, Kiwicha, and potatoes. Once there, locals greet us at a viewpoint over the Sacred Valley and offer traditional clothing. Next, we visit the Queswachaca bridge before a 3 hour hike to the Balcony of the Sacred Valley, an overlook 800 meters above the valley. On the return hike, we gather organic materials to learn the community's ancient dyeing and weaving techniques, which utilize leaves and clay for vibrant, durable colors.
