Salzburg is an Austrian city on the border with Germany, overlooking the Eastern Alps. The city is divided by the Salzach River, with the pedestrianized medieval and Baroque buildings of the Altstadt (Old Town) on its left bank, opposite the 19th-century Neustadt (New Town) on its right. It is the birthplace of the famous composer Mozart.

Hallstatt is a town located on the western shore of Lake Hallstatt in the Salzkammergut mountain region of Austria. Its 16th-century alpine houses and narrow streets are home to cafes and shops. A funicular connects the town to Salzwelten, a former salt mine with an underground salt lake, and to an observation deck overlooking the lake.
