Kothari's Patwaon-Ki-Haveli
Patwa Haveli or Kothari's Patwa Haveli is one of the most important Havelis of Jaisalmer. It was the first haveli and is not a single haveli but a cluster of 5 small Havelis. Belonged to a trader named Guman Chand Patwa, all these five houses were constructed in the first 60 years of the 19th century hence it is also known as the “mansion of brocade merchants”. It is now a museum featuring intricate carvings, furniture & artwork. The Archeological Survey of India and State art and craft department is situated in the haveli itself.

It also has a desert cultural centre and a museum that stores artefacts. The other attraction that you will see here is Tilon ki Pol, which is a 2-story yellow sandstone gateway with lattices & balconies. You can do boating here at an extra cost.

It is believed that due to the Diwan of Jaisalmer the villagers had to abandon the village one night and while going they cursed that no one will ever be able to settle here and whoever tried to repopulate the place has experienced paranormal activities. You can see and even enter the houses of the villagers and from the terrace; one can see the whole village. It is also a perfect spot for pictures
