Pájara is one of the oldest towns in Fuerteventura and was a very early settlement from Betancuria. It survived complete destruction during the Arab invasion of 1593 when all of Betancuria was reduced to dust. The town takes its name from the hen pheasant, as the coat of arms shows. يقع شاطئ لا باريد الأسود "فيجو ري" على الساحل الغربي لجزيرة فويرتيفنتورا، بجوار شبه جزيرة جانديا، ويبلغ طوله حوالي ٢٥٠ مترًا، وهو شاطئٌ صخريٌّ ذو طابعٍ بري. لقد شكّلته عوامل الزمن والرياح والمياه، فهو شاطئٌ بكرٌ عذراء. مناظر طبيعية خلابة تنتظركم لاكتشافها معنا... ومن هناك، يُمكننا رؤية شاطئ كوفيتي الشهير!

The church is an 18th-century building carried out by agreement between the island's residents who decided to erect a new temple in honor of their patron saint, Our Lady of the Rock.

Here we have a amazing view and little walk… Las Peñitas is ideal for using your imagination and traveling back in time millions of years, when the island was a large, rugged mountain range, without any rounded hills. Or to the 15th century, when the Normans visited this valley during their campaigns of conquest.
