When visiting a family workshop, you can watch closely how artisans transform a simple piece of copal into a unique piece of art. You will learn about the complete process: carving, sanding, natural drying and applying the vibrant colors that give personality to each figure.
You’ll have the opportunity to interact with master craftsmen, ask questions, take pictures and, if you wish, acquire an authentic piece directly from the creator, taking home a piece of Oaxaca loaded with history and culture.
