rom Þorlákshöfn (Thorlak’s Harbour) you will ride west, towards the beautiful lava fields of Krýsuvík. Krýsuvík is also famous for its geothermal activity (not surprisingly in amongst all the lava), so you’ll see some white strokes of steam rising from the ground in the distance. You might also see some impressive views of both mountains and the sea.
You will also visit a small church, Strandakirkja, that’s well known in Iceland. This is a protestant church from the 12th century, with beautiful views towards the ocean, and you’ll be sure to see some impressive waves crashing on the cliffs nearby, especially on windy days.
