The Unification Bridge crosses the Imjin River, symbolizing hopes for reconnection between North and South Korea. Tour participants cross it by bus after a military checkpoint to reach deeper restricted-access sites within the DMZ. It is nicknamed "Cow Bridge" because Hyundai founder Chung Ju-yung drove 1001 cows across it to North Korea in 1998 as a gesture of goodwill and business outreach.

One of the main highlights of the tour is The Third Tunnel of Aggression, also known as The Third Infiltration Tunnel, and is a North Korean-dug infiltration tunnel discovered in 1978, capable of moving up to 30,000 troops per hour toward Seoul.
