The Castle has been inhabited since the Neolithic and different civilizations such as Iberians, Romans, Arabs and Christians have passed through it; and famous figures in history such as El Cid, Jaume I, San Vicente Ferrer and Papa Luna.
The Governor's Palace, embedded among the rocks, stands out inside the enclosure.
