As we ride along the riverside, you will see a peaceful scene where traditional and modern Okinawan houses stand side by side. If you greet the locals passing by, they may respond with a warm smile. Here, you can experience the everyday atmosphere of Okinawa up close.

Just off a busy main street with the monorail running above, we will find a quiet area filled with old trees and stone steps. As you walk down the steps, you will hear the gentle sound of a spring and waterfall. It is hard to believe such a calm natural spot exists in the middle of the city.

After passing through a residential neighborhood, we will arrive at another hidden spring. Surrounded by forest, this peaceful place attracts water birds and is filled with the sound of nature. The quiet atmosphere makes it feel as if time has stopped.

We will also visit a traditional confectionery shop that has preserved recipes passed down for seven generations since the Ryukyu Kingdom era. Each sweet is carefully handmade by artisans who continue to protect this local tradition. You may be able to observe the production process and taste the sweets. With one bite, you might feel as if you have traveled back 200 years to the royal court of Ryukyu.

Next, we will stop at the symbolic ceremonial gate of Okinawa. With its striking vermilion color and elegant design, this gate was once admired by local people as “a beautiful gate standing above.” It is a perfect place to take photos and enjoy the atmosphere of the Ryukyu Kingdom.

From there, we will slowly ride down a hill overlooking Naha City. Along the way, you will see red-tiled roofs, guardian shisa figures, stone walls, and quiet streets that still carry the feeling of an old castle town.

We will continue exploring the Shuri Castle area, once the political and cultural center of the Ryukyu Kingdom. As we pass through cobblestone streets, temples, and sacred sites, you will gain a deeper understanding of Okinawan culture, history, and spiritual beliefs.

On the way back, enjoy an exhilarating downhill ride. Feel the wind as we return to our original meeting point. Return your bicycles and we will conclude the tour. Enjoy the city of Naha on your own afterwards
