Bring at least 1.5 liters of water per person. The Lipanca mountain hut midway offers food and drinks for purchase, but there are no facilities on the upper trail or summit.

Sunscreen and sunglasses are essential at altitude even on cloudy days. A light rain jacket is recommended as mountain weather can change quickly.

Are you ready to turn your hobbies into a business?
Rising to 2,014 meters, Debela Peč is one of the most accessible yet rewarding summits in the Julian Alps — and one of the few where a full 360-degree panorama unfolds at the top with relatively little effort.
In just about 3 hours of hiking, you'll pass through spruce forest and alpine meadows before emerging onto the open summit, where on clear days the views stretch from Triglav and the Julian Alps across the Karavanke Ridge and down to Lake Bled.
Along the way, stop at the cozy Lipanca mountain hut — a classic Slovenian alpine refuge where you can refuel with local food and drinks before the final push to the top (own expense).
