Archaeological Zone of Xochicalco
Xochicalco is a rural town located next to the pre-Columbian ruins of the Archaeological Zone of Xochicalco, southwest of Cuernavaca. The ruins include well-preserved pyramids, sports courts and an observatory, in addition to the Site Museum. Not far away, on the main road on the outskirts of town, there are a handful of simple restaurants offering regional cuisine, and there is also El Rodeo, a tranquil lake that is a popular destination for fishing and boating.

San Jose Vista Hermosa
The Hacienda de San José Vista Hermosa was founded in 1529 by Hernán Cortés, conqueror of Mexico, Lord and Captain of New Spain and the South Seas. As a reward for his conquests, Carlos V, King of Spain and Emperor of Germany, honored Hernán Cortés with the title of Marquis of the Valley of Oaxaca, granting him dominion and rights over 23,000 vassals, towns and a vast extension of lands. The Hacienda de San José de Vista Hermosa was the center of life, culture and activity in the region.
