Lucca's Duomo (Cattedrale di San Martino)
A short drive from Pisa takes you to the town of Lucca where you can have some free time to explore on your own. The walls are fascinating; you can see the four characteristic features corresponding to the four stages of construction together with the original gates and ramparts. The town is famous for its craftsmanship and Renaissance style.
As you stroll around the walls can get stunning views over the rooftops of the town. From above you can see the many alleyways, house-towers, churches and imposing palazzos. Your guide will also direct you to the old town to see the Piazza Anfiteatro, Guinigi Tower, St. Martin’s Cathedral and the quaint street with its old-fashioned shops.
