Monte Albán is an ancient and imposing pre-Hispanic Zapotec city, located only 20 minutes (8 km) from the center of Oaxaca de Juárez. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it stands out for its ceremonial architecture, a large central square and its strategic location on top of a hill.
Coming to Oaxaca and not visiting Monte Alban is like arriving and not tasting your food.
