This experience is for those who want to truly connect with the real culture of Cartagena.
We will visit a popular local neighborhood outside the Old City to share an authentic afternoon with a local family. We meet at 3:00 pm at Juan Valdez Coffee Shop at the Convention Center in Getsemaní. From there, we’ll head to a family home located about 20 minutes from the historic center.
You’ll be welcomed into a warm local kitchen and introduced to the family who will host us.
Together, guided by a local mom, we’ll prepare traditional Colombian dishes from scratch. We’ll start with crispy empanadas served with homemade sauces. Then we’ll cook a main course such as arroz con coco, plátano en ten...
