Central Park is a huge and iconic public urban park located in the heart of Manhattan, New York City. It’s one of the most famous parks in the world and a major landmark of NYC.  • Size: ~840 acres (about 340 hectares) — roughly 2.5 miles long from north to south and 0.5 miles wide.  • Location: Between 59th Street (Central Park South) and 110th Street (Central Park North), and between Fifth Avenue on the east and Central Park West (8th Avenue) on the west.  • Established: Created in the mid-1800s and opened in 1876, it was one of the first major landscaped public parks in the United States.
