Meet us at Akureyri Port. We have a fixed meeting point in the area, located only about 100m from main cruise ports. We have a meeting point flag located outside the building at Laufásgata 1. From there we walk to the City Center. The walking distance is 600m and takes about 8-10 minutes.
We start the tour here and introduce the schedule and route. We go over the main highlights of the tour and tell you about our town. You will learn the heart-shaped streetlights, among other things.

The local Theatre, built by the community in 1906 as a community house. A great viewpoint and the perfect place to learn about the rich cultural history of our town. The town has the only professional theatre house outside Reykjavik.

Local restaurant were we taste the highlights of the local cuisine. Fish, lamb, locally brewed beer and potatoes are the cornerstone of the Iceland diet. Preserved by salting or fermentation to last the harsh winter.

We end the tour by "The Art Canyon", a canyon located in the city center, with galleries and workshops. The area used to be the industrial hub of the area from the start of the 19th Century.
