Built in 1854 by Chinese laborers using granite quarried in China and bricks from New England, this is the oldest cathedral in California. It miraculously survived the 1906 earthquake and fire, and its famous clock tower still bears the inscription: "Son, observe the time and fly from evil."

The Sing Chong & Sing Fat Buildings

Known as the "Living Room of Chinatown," this bustling concrete plaza is where the city of San Francisco was originally born. Travelers will see locals gathered by the dozens playing intense games of Mahjong and Chinese chess. It’s also home to historic markers, including the spot where gold was first announced in California in 1848.
