Bastione di Capo Marchiafava
The Bastion, defined around 1600, represents the northern end of the city walls surrounding Cefalù on the sea side; it is the highest point, and on this was built the polygonal base platform with the tip projected towards the sea, almost like the bow of a boat.
The suggestive and elevated position compared to the city center allows a perfect view over the entire gulf in front of the city, with the Madonie mountains behind to protect Cefalu from the inside, almost like a safe embrace that continues the work of defense of the defense walls.
