Upon arrival at Castel Gandolfo railway station, make your way independently to the Papal Palace, located in the historic center of town. The walk takes approximately 10–15 minutes and includes an uphill section, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

You will explore the Papal Palace of Castel Gandolfo, visiting historic rooms, papal apartments, and collections that reveal centuries of papal history. They can also stroll through the peaceful Secret Garden, enjoying its landscaped greenery and scenic surroundings.

After your visit to the Papal Palace and Secret Garden, you can choose to return to Rome immediately using your included return train ticket or spend more time exploring Castel Gandolfo at your own pace. Stroll through the picturesque historic center, admire the beautiful panoramic views of Lake Albano, browse local shops, or stop at a café or restaurant to enjoy an aperitivo or lunch before making your way back to Castel Gandolfo railway station for your return journey to Rome.

At the end of your day, return independently to Castel Gandolfo railway station and travel back to Rome using your included return train ticket.
