Grand Sphinx de Gizeh
Le Grand Sphinx de Gizeh (arabe : أبو الهول Abū al-Haul, anglais : The Terrifying One ; littéralement : Father of Terror), communément appelé le Sphinx, est une statue en calcaire d'un sphinx couché ou couché (une créature mythique avec un corps de lion et une tête humaine) qui se dresse sur le plateau de Gizeh sur la rive ouest du Nil à Gizeh, en Égypte. Le visage du Sphinx est généralement considéré comme représentant le visage du pharaon Khéphren.
