Citadelle du Caire
The Cairo Citadel, also known as the Citadel of Saladin, is one of the most important Islamic landmarks in Egypt. It was built in 1176 AD by Salah al-Din (Saladin) to defend Cairo from enemy attacks. For nearly 700 years, it served as the center of government and the residence of many Egyptian rulers.
The citadel is famous for the beautiful Mosque of Muhammad Ali, which features large domes and tall minarets. Visitors can also enjoy museums, historic mosques, and breathtaking panoramic views of Cairo from the top of the fortress.

The Mosque of Muhammad Ali is one of the most famous landmarks inside the Cairo Citadel. It was built in the 19th century by Muhammad Ali Pasha, the ruler of Egypt, and is also known as the “Alabaster Mosque” because of its beautiful alabaster stone decoration.

Mosquée et madrasa du sultan Hassan
The Mosque of Sultan Hassan is one of the greatest examples of Mamluk architecture in Egypt. It was built in the 14th century by Sultan Hassan and is famous for its massive size, impressive entrance, and beautiful Islamic decorations.
Next to it stands Al-Rifa’i Mosque, built in the 19th century in a similar architectural style. It is known as the royal mosque because several members of Egypt’s royal family are buried there, including King Farouk and the Shah of Iran.
Both mosques are located near the Cairo Citadel and are among the most beautiful Islamic monuments in Cairo.

Khan El Khalili Bazaar is one of the oldest and most famous traditional markets in the Middle East. It was established in the 14th century and is located in the heart of Islamic Cairo.
