Are you ready to turn your hobbies into a business?
You will soon EN notice, Bruges is a city crossed by charming canals DE. It’s simple, there are DE everywhere! The Groenerei, which can be translated as the “green canal”, is one DE those natural places that fully contribute to the charm DE the city.
2
Quai du Rosaire / Rozenhoedkaai
Welcome to the DE Bruges photography par excellence website! Former port DE sel, known by all 14th century merchants, the Quai du Rosaire is a magical place to capture the best profile DE the Flemish city.
3
Gruuthusemuseum
Before DE became one DE the city’s cultural sites, this huge building, nestled in an inner courtyard, was the palace of the lords Gruuthuse, the most famous of which remains Louis de Bruges. Belonging to a noble family, enriched by the monopoly on groats, the ancestor of hops, this prince gave this place all the grandeur and elegance of the fifteenth century.
4
St Bonifacius Bridge
This place, far from being out of proportion, is nevertheless a must DE the city, whose main Attraction is none other than the charming little stone bridge EN spanning the canal. This discreet, pointed EN arch, made DE stone et DE bricks, perfectly sums up the mysterious and romantic atmosphere DE Bruges, despite its young existence at the beginning of the 20th century.
5
Minnewater Lake
It’s on more country DE notes that our next stop definitely takes us away from the bustle of the city center. Minnewater Park, one DE the largest green spaces in Bruges, is a hymn to nature, both in the plant setting it promises and in its mythical Lake of Love, whose name already makes us dream.
6
Beguinage "Ten Wijngaerde"
It is precisely in this kind of place where you get the vague Impression that time has frozen for DE. Don't you think so?
7
Huisbrouwerij De Halve Maan
If many DE people instinctively associate Belgium with beer, it is impossible DE prove them wrong with this following judgment like no other. Both a dining venue and a museum, the Halve Maan brewery has been an integral part DE Bruges’ history since 1856.
8
De Vos Almshouse (Godshuis de Vos)
As if fading into the urban landscape, we find here and there these small groups DE houses so typical DE Bruges. Nicknamed the “Maisons-Dieu”, these housing blocks date back to the 14th century, when DE wealthy bourgeois and some brotherhoods unknowingly contributed to the appearance DE the city’s first social housing.
9
Sashuis
Almost magically appearing on our way, this small building DE pure Flemish style, close to Minnewater Park, is simply an old lock house. Built in the 16th century, it was mainly used to supply the city centre with water, as evidenced by the three drainage openings in the lower part of the structure.
10
Saint John’s Hospital
Among the historic landscape DE Bruges, one cannot do DE the old Saint John Hospital positioned on the right. Built EN red brick in the middle of the 12th century, this complex DE buildings, dedicated to care, was the largest hospital complex DE all Europe in the Middle Ages.
11
Church of Our Lady
Overlooking the city, and piercing the sky with its 122DEmetre bell tower, the Church of Our Lady DE Bruges is an indispensable stop DE the destination. Originally a simple chapel in the 9th century, then a Romanesque-style church DE, it adopted its definitive Gothic look from the 13th century.
12
Sint-Salvatorskathedraal
Built between the 10th and 15th centuries, Saint-Sauveur Cathedral is the oldest religious building DE the city. Although it did not have the gran DE ur and exuberance DE other cathedrals DE the time, it remains the main Catholic place of worship hosting the bishopric of Bruges since the 19th century.
13
Belfort
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage DE 1999 the Belfry DE Bruges did not wait for recognition this year to make a name for itself. Symbol DE power during the Middle EN Ages, this high-rise construction had its first origins in the mid-13th century.
14
Markt
Anyone visiting Bruges cannot afford DE miss this place. Spread over an area of one hectare, the Markt, also known as DE la Gran DE Place, is the lively heart of the city. No matter where we look, the various buildings DE character present tell us all the importance and atmosphere DE the place.
15
Provincial Palace
From West EN East, and from South to North, the Markt spoils us EN important monuments. Typical gable houses EN t Flemish DES, belfry in primitive Gothic style, not to mention this incredible building, with a richly decorated facade, that is the provincial palace of Bruges.
16
Friet Museum
And yes, as everywhere EN Belgium, we are not laughing with fries! This monument DE 1399, one DE the oldest in the city, was known as the “Genoese Lodge”. Originally a central office DE shops in Genoa, it is now a completely different function that makes the site lively.
17
Tolhuis
To avoid looking at the bad Attraction DE the square, simply look DE the only building with a flight DE steps at its entrance. Do you see her?
18
Jan Van Eyck
At 3.75 metres DE height, the statue DE Jan Van Eyck proudly dominates the square, or what could once have been akin to the “Manhattan” DE la Bruges Burgundienne.
19
Burg Square
The one who comes to Bruges and does not cross the Place du Bourg has clearly failed his principles DE seasoned visitor. You are DE lucky, with us, you are saved at this level!
20
Basilica of the Holy Blood
DE relativem EN t mo DEste, compared to the other wonders of the square, the Basilica of the Holy Blood really arouses our curiosity. Far DE the classic image of a religious building, it is without traces DE bell tower, and with a completely dark way DE, that this combination of two superimposed chapels has stood on this square since the 12th century.
21
Bruges City Hall
DElightful site for the management and government DE the city for 600 years, the Inn DE Ville DE Bruges is considered the oldest in Flanders. Built between 1376 and 1421, in place DE the former prison, this DE pouvoir DE Québec was to impress and contribute greatly to the influence of the city.
22
Brugse Vrije
It is DE this house, full of elegance, that was once administered the castle "Franc de Bruges", to designate the Bruges countryside and its surroundings. First installed on Place du Bourg, it was not until the 15th century that its administrative functions moved to this new location, formerly occupied by a palace DE 1520.
