Trabi Museum
The first Trabi Museum in Berlin. Experience the world of the GDR Volkswagen right next to Checkpoint Charlie. Nostalgia guaranteed! Here you learn all about the history of these famous two-strokers. The "Rennpappe" went into production in 1958 at the VEB Automobilwerk Zwickau and is the most famous vehicle of the former GDR.
See different stages of development of the peoples' car of the former GDR, as well as different uses of the vehicle, such as the camping Trabi and military vehicle. Rarities such as the Trabant P70 with a wooden undercarriage or the fastest Trabi are also there; furthermore an exciting short film is shown in the theater. Try the original Trabi driving school simulator, too. In the small shop you could find a miniature Trabi to take away.
