The Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall is located in Jiuduhe Town, Huairou District, Beijing, 80 kilometers away from the urban area of Beijing. It was first built in the second year of Yongle of the Ming Dynasty (1404) and completed in the 20th year of Wanli (1592), taking a total of 188 years. This section of the Great Wall is 12.4 kilometers long and is the essence of the Ming Great Wall. It is not only the northern gateway to guard the capital but also an important gateway to protect the Ming "Thirteen Tombs".
You can either choose to take a boat tour around Haoming Lake to closely observe the Great Wall in the water, or hike up the Great Wall to experience its grandeur and perilousness. You can also take the winding mountain plank road to circle the lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the scenic area from all angles.
