The journey to Chuandixia Ancient Village takes approximately 1.5 hours by car. As you travel along the scenic National Highway 109, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of Beijing’s western countryside.
Upon arrival, you can explore the village at your own pace (with Option 1) or follow your English-speaking guide (with Option 2) to discover its hidden gems. This well-preserved national-level cultural relics village, hailed as a “Shangri-la of the north”, boasts 74 sets of intact Ming and Qing dynasty courtyard houses that reflect traditional Chinese feng shui concepts.
Wander through its rustic stone-paved lanes and steep stairways. If you wish to stop for a local meal at one of the family-run home stays, your driver or guide will be happy to assist.
