Our Bear Valley half-day intro course is designed to give you a solid first experience with outdoor climbing. The day begins at our office inside Bear Valley Lodge, where you’ll meet your guide and go over the plan before heading out to Box Canyon. Once there, you’ll learn the essentials of belaying, tying knots, and moving on real rock, followed by plenty of time to climb routes chosen for your comfort and ability level. It’s a relaxed and supportive way to try rock climbing in one of the Sierra’s most scenic canyons.
