Tiergarten
The Global Stone Project by the sculptor Wolfgang Kraker von Schwarzenfeld is located in the eastern Tiergarten, on the former dry grassland of the "Großer Hains".
In each of the five continents, two stones were selected, one of which remained in the home country and the other was placed in the Tiergarten in Berlin. The following themes are symbolized by the monoliths: Awakening (Europe), Hope (Africa), Forgiving (Asia), Love (America) and Peace (Australia). The stones have polished reflection surfaces and are connected to each other on June 21st at the turn of the summer by reflections of the sunlight. This is to symbolize the connectedness of the continents in the world.
