Itinerary
This bean-to-cup interactive experience introduces travellers to the age-old process of roasting and brewing coffee. It begins with a short guided tour of a smallholder coffee farm where you learn about the cultivation of arabica coffee, one of Tanzania’s major export commodities. You will then proceed to our private garden for step-by-step instruction on how to husk, roast, grind and brew your own coffee using traditional handmade utensils. The process is entirely manual and will be accompanied by traditional songs. You begin by pounding the dried beans in a large wooden mortar and pestle to remove the outer husk.
