As you cruise through the Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge, you'll travel through one of Florida's last untouched wilderness areas, where wild dolphins frequently surface and ride alongside the boat. Your captain will guide you past Morgan Island, Dickmans Island, and Kice Island, part of the remote Cape Romano cluster known for some of Southwest Florida's best shelling and pristine, undeveloped beaches. Depending on conditions, you step ashore to walk the beach, search for shells, and spot shorebirds and other wildlife in this protected estuarine habitat. This stretch of coastline has a rich history, once home to local fishermen and shellers, and offers a rare glimpse of Florida exactly as it looked generations ago.
