Sweetwater Creek State Park is a 2,500-acre natural escape tucked just 15 miles west of downtown Atlanta, a stunning contrast of wilderness against the urban sprawl you can see from our vantage point. The park is home to the haunting stone ruins of the New Manchester Manufacturing Company, a Civil War-era textile mill burned by Union troops in 1864. Whether you're a history buff or a nature lover, the forest canopy and creek corridors below tell a story stretching back more than 150 years.
