We will pick you up at 7:00 in the morning at your hotel in Popayan to start this excursion. We will leave for Tierradentro National Archaeological Park, one of the most important archaeological sites in Colombia.

We will make a short stop to take pictures in the amazing valley of the frailejones (unique plant of the Andean ecosystem). Then, we will continue our tour for about an hour until we reach the charming village of Inzá.

In the village of Inza we will enjoy a delicious breakfast.

We will walk for about an hour until we reach the great pyramid of Inza and its underground caves from here we will observe great landscapes on the ullucos river.

Then we will arrive at the archaeological park full of anthropological and historical wealth. We will take a tour of the park, where we will observe vestiges of three historical periods: pre-Hispanic, colonial and republican. We will walk among pyramids and underground graves called hypogea, which were dug directly into the volcanic rock. We will admire the decorations of the burial chambers, some of which reach up to 8 meters deep. In addition, we will learn the history of the brave indigenous Paeces, who inhabited this territory before the arrival of the Spanish. These peoples allied with their neighbors to defend their lands. Would they be the builders of these graves? We'll find out together! After visiting the hypogea, we will climb to the surface to observe the stone statues shaped like animals representing indigenous idols. We will also visit the park museum, where objects found during excavations are displayed.

We will pause to enjoy a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, we will explore vestiges of the colonial era by visiting the church of San Andrés de Pisimbalá, a curious stone structure with a thatched roof.
