Itinerary
I am a 4th generation farmer here at Faerie Fort farm so I will start by giving a brief history of the heritage of the area. The garden studio is located next to a 1000 year old fairy fort behind our thatched cottage. I will explain the origins of Aran knitting, the various types of wool available and the meanings of a variety of stitch patterns. I will show examples of various cable and stitch patterns and discuss how you can design your own sweater.
We can then knit a prepared cable pattern. Smoked salmon on homemade brown bread, traditional Irish porter cake, tea, coffee and herbal teas will be served at your convenience.
