Pre Rup Temple is one of the most impressive and underrated temples in the Angkor Archaeological Park. Built in the 10th century by King Rajendravarman II, this stunning Hindu temple is a masterpiece of Khmer architecture and offers a quieter, more peaceful experience compared to the crowded Angkor Wat.
What I Loved:
- Breathtaking Sunset Views – Climb to the top tier for an unforgettable panoramic view, especially during sunset. The reddish bricks glow magically in the golden light.
- Rich History & Architecture – The temple’s unique pyramid-style structure and intricate carvings showcase the brilliance of ancient Khmer craftsmanship.
- Less Crowded – Unlike the more famous temples, Pre Rup offers a serene atmosphere, perfect for photography and quiet exploration.
- Great Photo Opportunities – The combination of towering prasats (towers), ancient stonework, and surrounding jungle makes it a photographer’s dream.

Je suis toi
Ta Som Temple is a quieter, lesser-known treasure in the Angkor Archaeological Park, but it’s absolutely worth visiting! Unlike the crowded Angkor Wat or Bayon, this temple offers a more peaceful and intimate experience.
What I Loved:
Serene Atmosphere – With fewer tourists, you can explore at your own pace and take in the beautiful ruins without the crowds.
Iconical Fig Tree Roots – The famous strangler fig tree engulfing the eastern gate is breathtaking—a perfect photo spot!
Compact Yet Stunning – Smaller than other temples, but the intricate carvings and moss-covered stones give it a mystical, lost-world feel.

Preah Khan
If you're visiting Siem Reap, don't miss Preah Khan Temple—a stunning, lesser-known treasure in the Angkor Archaeological Park. Built in the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII.Why Visit Preah Khan?
- Atmospheric Ruins – Unlike the more crowded Angkor Wat or Ta Prohm, Preah Khan offers a quieter, more mystical experience. The temple is partially reclaimed by nature, with towering trees and intricate carvings intertwined in a mesmerizing way.
- Rich History – Originally a strategic hub for religion and education, the temple features a mix of Buddhist and Hindu influences, with detailed bas-reliefs and well-preserved corridors.
- Great for Exploration – The layout encourages wandering through labyrinthine passages, hidden courtyards, and crumbling galleries, making it perfect for adventurous travelers.
-Preah Khan is a must-see for those who love history, photography, or simply exploring ancient ruins without the crowds.

Neak Pean
